Experience Level of Players - Player nameplates are color coded to identify the experience level of each participant in a game. A GREEN nameplate identifies someone who has played in less than 100 total Spoker games, a BLUE nameplate identifies someone who has played anywhere from 100 to 999 total Spoker games and a BLACK nameplate identifies someone who has played in at least 1,000 total Spoker games. Games played in the PRACTICE lobby do NOT count towards these totals.
Beginner Games - Some Spoker games only permit beginning players in them. These games are labed "BEG" in the game lobby. A beginning player is defined as anyone who has played less than 100 times of any game type. A beginning player is defined as anyone who has played less than 100 combined games from either the Cash Games or Showdown lobbies. There is a beginning game option for every single game type in these two lobbies.
Winning Position - Only the top finisher is paid. If 2 or more people tie for the top position, they will split the pot.
Pick a Sport - There are six sports to choose from: baseball, basketball, golf, football, soccer, and hockey.
Object of the Game - Contestants play a one round 7-Card Spoker format with the goal of trying to accumulate the highest 5 card athlete point total. At the same time, they also try to secure as many bonus points as possible.
Starting the Game - Each contestant is dealt two unique cards from the deck. A given player’s two unique cards are only known to them. They can either "fold" or "play on" after viewing these cards. Five additional cards are dealt and placed face down in the middle of the table. Once they are revealed, ALL players who have not folded can play off of them to improve their hand.
Pot - Only players who don't fold are eligible to win the pot. The player with the highest scoring hand receives the money in the pot.
Keyboard Hotkeys - Contestants can press "A" on their keyboard to play on and "F" to fold. When SELECTING athletes, contestants can press the number on the keyboard that corresponds to the number on the athlete card to select them.
Folding - Players can either fold or play on at four different junctures in the game. If a player folds immediately after seeing their hole cards, 80% of their entry fee remains in their account and the other 20% goes towards the pot. If a player folds immediately after seeing the 3-card flop, 60% of their entry fee remains in their account and the other 40% goes towards the pot. If a player folds immediately after seeing the turn card, 40% of their entry fee remains in their account and the other 60% goes towards the pot. If a player folds immediately after seeing the river card, 20% of their entry fee remains in their account and the other 80% goes towards the pot.
Scoring - Scoring is based on two parts. First, the point values for each of a player’s 5 athletes are scored and added together. Second, bonus points are awarded for both color combinations and having teammates.
Value of Athletes for Live Games - Athletes are scored based on the points they score during their live action sporting events. It is possible for athletes to score 0 or even negative points.
Card Selection - Contestants who don't fold during the game will select ANY 5 card combination of their shared/unique cards to be scored.

Format - Greed is played in groups of nine (9) contestants over six rounds. Contestants create teams of six athletes they secure during a six round bidding process.
Non-Traditional Draft - A different playing position is up for draft each round. For example, the tight end position is drafted in the first round of the football game. The nine players competing have six tight ends to choose from. Instead of taking turns drafting them, the draft is blind. Contestants have 20 seconds to select the tight end they want for their team.
Securing an Athlete - Contestants always receive the athletes they picked each round. Their value is not determined though until it is revealed what ALL contestants did with their selections.
Athlete Pool - There are a minimum number of professional sporting events needed to hold a Spoker Live game. If you enter a Spoker Live game and there are no longer enough games left that night (or weekend for football) to hold one, then you will automatically be placed in a game for Spoker Live on the next available date. The date(s) of the game can always be found in your My Games area.
Duplication Penalty - Since there are more contestants (9) than athletes available (6) for a given round, this means some athletes will be duplicated. Non-duplicated athletes are always worth 100% of their athlete PPG average; however, duplication creates penalties. It is important to remember that the better the athlete is, the bigger the penalty is going to be and the more duplication that occurs, the penalty only gets worse.
Weighted Penalties -
If only one player selects an athlete, he is worth 100% of his point value to the player who selected him. When an athlete is selected by two or more players, the athlete's value is decreased by 20% EACH TIME he is duplicated. All contestants who choose the same athlete receive his adjusted point value for the game.
Team - Once the six rounds of drafting are over, each contestant has their team of six athletes that is scored for the match.
No Selection - If a contestant fails to select an athlete for a given round, this position will be scored a zero (0) for the game. This rule underscores the importance of always selecting an athlete for each of the six rounds.

Scoring Rewind Games - A team is scored by adding the scores of all six athletes together. Each athlete is scored by taking their point per game average and multiplying it by the percentage of points the contestant secured for a given athlete. For example, if a) if you selected Jalen Hurts to be your quarterback and his point average is 16 points per game AND b) two other players selected him so that you have him for 60% of his points THEN c) you will receive 60% of Hurts' points for the match--in this case, 60% of 16 is equal to 9.6 points. The athlete pool for EACH sport is listed below.
Scoring Live Games - The scoring for Live is exactly the same as Rewind. The one difference is contestants must wait for their athletes to complete their live events in order to display their final score.

Format - Bid Spoker is played in groups consisting of nine (9) people. These contestants bid on eight teams over 8 rounds. This means one person is eliminated during the bidding process and does not receive a team for the competition.
Bidding - A team of six athletes is revealed for each round. Contestants make a percentage bid for the team ranging from 1% to 100% (no decimals allowed). The more desirable the team, the LOWER the bid should be because the lowest bid always wins the team. If a contestant isn't interested in the team up for bid, they can pass. Contestants have 20 seconds to make a bid. If they fail to make a bid in the allotted time, it counts as a "no bid" for the round. Bids are blind so contestants do not know the bids of other members of the group until all bids are in.
Securing a Team - The contestant with the LOWEST percentage bid during a round wins that team of six athletes for the game. Once a contestant has secured a team through the bidding process, they have their team for the match and are ineligible to bid again. Submitted bids CAN be changed as long as it is done before the 20 second clock expires.
Athlete Pool for Live Games - There are a minimum number of professional sporting events needed to hold a Spoker Live game. Double Edged Sword - Contestants must be very careful and not bid too low because a winning bid counts a second way for the game. It not only guarantees someone the team they desire, but also HOW MUCH their team is worth. The way it works is the winning bid determines the PERCENTAGE of overall points the contestant keeps from their team's score in the match. For example, if someone secures their team with a bid of 17%, this means ALL of their athletes are worth EXACTLY 17% of their overall point per game average for the game.
Bidding Range Shrinks - Bidding Range Shrinks-For the first six rounds, the maximum bid allowed DECREASES by 5% for each new round. For example, the bidding range for Round 1 is 1% to 100% and for Round 2 it is 1% to 95%. Following this process, by the 6th round, it is 1% to 75%. For the 7th and 8th rounds, the bidding range is the SAME for both. The maximum bid permitted for each of these rounds is ALWAYS the AVERAGE of the WINNING BIDS for the first six rounds.
Legal Bids - A legal bid is defined as any bid that is submitted during the 20 second bidding window for a round. A "pass" is considered a legal bid. If a contestant fails to make in a bid in 20 seconds, they are given a "no bid" which is NOT considered a legal bid.
What Happens When Nobody Submits a Percentage Bid? - If nobody submits a percentage bid for a round, someone still receives the team as long as AT LEAST ONE LEGAL BID (a "pass") is made. When this happens, the team goes to the LAST person on the clock who passed. They receive the team for the highest percentage the bidding range allows for the given round.
What Happens When All Remaining Players Fail to Make a Legal Bid? - If a round has ONLY illegal bids, meaning nobody submitted a bid of any type in the 20 second window, the bidding process immediately ends. This rule is in effect to prevent possible collusion. All remaining contestants, who don't have a team, are automatically DISQUALIFIED. This rule underscores the importance of ALWAYS submitting a "pass" (a legal bid) for an undesirable team. Spokered players are ineligible to receive money. This includes situations where they must be listed in a top 4 position due to a high number of spokered players.
What If There are Two or More Winning Bids? - If two or more contestants submit the same winning bid for a round, then the contestant who submitted it first receives the team.
How will it Register if I "Pass" or have a "No Bid?" - You will be recorded as if you made a non-zero percentage bid. This default bid will always be LOWER than the winning bid.

Determining Event Dates - Spoker Live event dates are determined by two factors---1) the type of sport and 2) the remaining number of live events. For the first factor, some sports are usually one day competitions (baseball and basketball) while some are held over several days (football and golf). A minimum number of live events that have NOT started are required. If there aren't enough, the event date defaults either to the next day (baseball and basketball) or the next weekend (football and golf). For example, football requires four live games. This is because the eight contestants in the group that secure a hand EACH need a starting QB, TE and RB. With four games available, there are at least 8 starting QBs, 8 starting RBs and 8 starting TEs which ensures a tighter competition between hands.
Scoring Rubric - A team is scored by adding the scores of all six athletes together. Each athlete is scored by taking their points and then multiplying it by the percentage of points the contestant secured their team with. For example, if a) Brock Purdy is your QB and he has 16 points AND b) you secured your team with a 50% bid, THEN c) you will receive 50% of Purdy's points for the match. In this case, 50% of 16 is equal to 8.

Tiebreaker - If a completed match ends in a tie between two or more contestants, the person who secured their team in the LOWER round of bidding always receives the HIGHER position in the overall group standings. For example, Round 5 is a LOWER draft position than Round 2 so the person securing their team in Round 5 would finish ahead of the person who secured theirs in Round 2 in the event they tied.
There are five types of contests in the Cash Games lobby. They are: Bid Spoker, Greed, 7-Card Spoker, 9-Card Spoker . Players should familiarize themselves with the rules for each game type before entering a contest for money.
Players have three options in the Cash Games lobby. They can compete in a LIVE game that follows the traditional sports model of waiting for the final scores of upcoming sporting events, they can play REWIND which uses athletes averages of the athletes where contests are scored immediately or they can PRACTICE by playing a REWIND contest against virtual players for no money.
If an athlete does not appear in a Spoker Live contest, for any reason (injury, suspension, scratch, etc.), they will receive ZERO points during scoring.
Contests in the REWIND lobby last about 4-5 minutes. For LIVE games, it takes 4-5 minutes to draft teams and they become finalized when all sporting events linked to the contest are complete.
Players enter a table for a designated dollar amount and top finishers are paid proportionally based on the entry fees.
Payouts for all LIVE and REWIND contests for Greed, Bid Spoker are as such: 1st Place = 3X entry fee, 2nd Place = 2X entry fee, 3rd Place = 2X entry fee and 4th place = 1X entry fee (entry fee is returned). Payouts for all LIVE and REWIND 7 and 9-Card Spoker contests are winner take all. The dollar amount for a victory is equal to the value of the contest's final pot.
