Rules x

  1. Applications - The 15-hand format is used for the Spokerama for each round contested.
  2. Structure - Tournaments are contested with the 9-Card Spoker game rules and Spoker Rewind format. The 9-Card Spoker game RULES can be found in the Cash Games and Showdown lobbies. The only difference is the pot represents points for tournament play while it represents cash (in dollars) in the other lobbies. For Spokerama, overall point scorers are ranked and top 3 finishers advance to the next round. All players who make it to the final table (for the 11th round) receive a payout.
  3. Hands Per Round - Each tournament round is 15 hands. It takes approximately 1 hour to complete a tournament round.
  4. Keyboard Hotkeys - Contestants can press "A" on their keyboard to play on and "F" to exit. When SELECTING athletes, contestants can press the number on the keyboard that corresponds to the number on the athlete card to select them.
  5. Advancing in Tournament Play - Each tournament round is contested in groups of 9 players per table. The top 3 players from a table advance to the next round (unless it is the final round).

  1. Eliminating Players - During each tier, the lowest ranked player at a table is eliminated after the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th hands in the following manner:
    • Hands 1-8 have 9 players competing with the lowest overall player dropped for Hand 9.
    • Hands 9-10 have 8 players competing with the lowest overall player dropped for Hand 11.
    • Hands 11-12 have 7 players competing with the lowest overall player dropped for Hand 13.
    • Hands 13-14 have 6 players competing with the lowest overall player dropped for Hand 15.
    • Hand 15 has 5 players competing.
  2. Points System - Each player starts off with 300 points for a Quick Tournaments. Blinds are defined as points that are deducted each time new cards (or card) are displayed during a given hand. The point deductions vary depending on what stage of the Quick Tournament the players are in. The blind deductions are as follows:
    • Hands 1-5 = 2 points deducted per blind
    • Hands 6-10 = 4 points deducted per blind
    • Hands 11-15 = 6 points deducted per blind
  3. Scoring a Hand - Each of the 15 hands in a tournament round are scored in the following manner:
    • Players Who Exit - Lose only the blind points that were required to stay in at the point they exited.
    • Players Who DON'T Exit - The hand winner receives all of the points in the pot. Nonwinners receive zero points.
  4. Scoring a Tournament Round - At the end of 15 hands, the points each player has on their nameplate is their final score. Top 3 finishers advance to the next table except for the final table. All players at the final table receive a cash payout based on their final positions.
  5. Tiebreakers - Tiebreakers to eliminate the lowest remaining player at a table are as follows:

    1. Player with the most pot wins advances.
    2. Player with the most NON-EXITING hands advances.
    3. Computer generated coin flip.
    These tiebreakers also apply to breaking ties for FINAL POSITIONS at a table

  3. Players can enter as many times as they want to.
  4. Tournament is 11 rounds (or tiers).
  5. For each round, players compete at tables of 9 contestants.
  6. Top 3 finishers at each table advance to the next round and receive a ticket for that new round.
  7. Tickets for a given round can be used anytime a player wants to use it. When they enter the game lobby with their ticket, they will wait until the table fills up. All but the last player in will receive a text message when it fills.
  8. Payouts for SPOKERAMA - Players who make the 11th and Final Table at Spokerama receive the following:
  • 1st Place--$4,000,000
  • 2nd Place--$2,000,000
  • 3rd Place-- $1,000,000
  • 4th Place--$750,000
  • 5th Place--$500,000
  • 6th Place $300,000
  • 7th Place--$200,000
  • 8th Place--$150,000
  • 9th Place--$100,000

1. Entry fee is $25.
2. Choose your sport for tables 1 through 8. Tables 9 through 11 are football.
3. Tournament format is REWIND.
4. Tournament structure is the pot limit format of 9-Card Spoker.
5. Each table has 9 players. Top 3 finishers at each table advance to the next table. The remaining 6 players are eliminated.
6. Players who finish in the top 3 for 10 consecutive tables are flown to Sacramento to compete at a Final Table of 9 people. Payouts for the final positions at this table are as follows:
1st = $4,000,000
2nd = $2,000,000
3rd = $1,000,000
4th = $750,000
5th = $500,000
6th = $300,000
7th = $200,000
8th = $150,000
9th = $100,000
7. Players can enter more than one time.
8. You will receive a text message when your table fills up.

How To Play

  1. Eliminating Players - The lowest ranked player at a table is eliminated after the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th hands.       Points System - Players start with 300 points at the beginning of the match. It costs points to see cards. These points to see cards are placed in a pot and the player with the best hand wins the pot of points. These points are then added to the winning player's overall point total. At the end of 15 hands, the player with the most overall points is declared the winner.
    • Exiting - Players have the option to exit at any point. Exiting is beneficial for players with poor hands. The exiting process stops players from having to pay points to see the next cards for a given hand. Once a player recognizes they have a poor hand, they should exit.
  2. Points to the Pot - The number of points it costs to remain in a hand depends on the number of players at the table. The following table gives the points a player must put into the pot to SEE THE CARDS for a given stage in the hand:

  2. Entry Fee - Quick Tournaments have entry fees similar to Cash Games. Entry fees are $2, $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100.
  3. Game Type & Sport - Quick Tournaments use the 9-Card Spoker format. Players can choose any sport to participate in.
  4. Format - Players compete in one 15-hand 9-Card Spoker match

  1. Prep Tournament - Tiers are Prep Tournaments for Spokerama. They don't have as many rounds as Spokerama, but they mimic the structure that requires players to finish in the top 3 to advance.
  2. Entry Fee - $10
  3. Format & Scoring - For each Tier, players compete in one 15-hand set of 9-Card Spoker in the sport of their choice.
  4. Tiers - There are up to 5 Tiers for a tournament. Contestants enter an Spoker Tiers competition for the sport of their choice and are placed in a Tier 1 group of nine players.
  5. Tickets - The top 3 finishers of a group receive a Tier 2 ticket. This ticket can be used at any time for a Tier 2 competition from any sport—the sport can be different than the sport they competed in during Tier 1. The process then repeats itself. Top 3 finishers of a Tier 2 competition receive a Tier 3 ticket.
  6. Higher Tiers - Tiers 3 and 4 have two options. Players with a Tier 3 ticket can either play at a Tier 3 Final Table where all 9 players at the table are paid or they can play in a Tier 4 Qualifier to play for more money. The same option is available for holders of Tier 4 tickets. They can either play at a Tier 4 Final Table or try to play for more money in a Tier 5 Qualifier. Tier 5 tickets have only one option. Players compete at a Tier 5 Final Table.

♤ ♣ Quick Tournaments / Tiers Basics ♦ ♡

1. Each Tournament game takes approximately 1 hour to play.
2. Pick the sport you want to play.
3. Tournament format is REWIND.
4. Tournament game is 9-Card Spoker.
5. Each table plays 15 hands of 9-Card Spoker.
6. Each table has 9 players competing against each other.
7. Quick Tournaments - Top 3 finishers receive payouts proportional to their buy-in.
8. Tiers - Top 3 finishers receive a ticket to the next tier in qualifiers. Each participant at a Tiers final table is paid and the amount for each place is determined by how high the tier level is.
9. For Tiers events, players who qualify for Tier 3 (or Tier 4) will receive tickets for both potential options for their next match. This does NOT mean they have tickets to BOTH. It simply allows them to select the option they prefer. Once they make their selection, the tickets will disappear for both options.
10. You will receive a text message notifying you when your tournament game has filled. Once you receive the text, you will have 3 minutes until your game starts.
